The DPS is a four-story building of a traditional elongated ‘street house’ design – yet elevated with a spacious sky well in the center. The design of this building comprises several Western historical architectural styles infused with some eclectic elements, including the local Minnan and Japanese styles.
The DPS is located in the center of Stad Provintia – today’s Tainan inner-city area – the earliest developed town in Taiwan.
“De Provintia Straat” (Minquan Rd.) was approximately 340 meters long and50 feet wide – a six-lane road fittingfor horse carriages to use.
It has been designated by the Ministry of Transportation and Communications as Taiwan’s earliest official avenue.
DPS offers a number of selections for accommodation – ranging from single bed to deluxe suite – most ideal for backpackers or large gatherings. There are three types of rooms and two gender-separate backpacker spaces for you to choose from.
